About
Michelle Hill is an exoplanet astrophysicist and Stanford Science Fellow studying the habitability of worlds beyond the Solar System. Her work detects and characterizes planets in their stars' habitable zones — using radial velocity, transit, and astrometry — and asks one sharp question: what is the minimum planet size that can hold onto liquid surface water? She earned her PhD in Earth and planetary sciences at UC Riverside as a NASA FINESST fellow, and is the lead author of catalogs of habitable-zone exoplanets and the STEHM (Smaller Than Earth Habitability Model) framework.
